We only lived here for about a year but in that year, we discovered so much about this place. The neighbors had always told stories about the house next door, but we always thought it was just a bunch of rumors. We were told that the house next door had burned down in a fire, starting in a kids room. Whether this is true or not, I still don't know to this day. Although, what we experienced in this house was far more proof than we'd needed. It started with loud footsteps, sounding like heavy boots, treading on the kitchen floor. It sounded like someone was being chased through the house. We had had a bonfire one night on the deck and saw a bright blue orb fly across the backyard. We all saw it and it kind of became a joke about just how creepy this place was. One night my parents were sitting in their bathroom and took a picture in the mirror. In this picture? A six foot ghost of a man staring right back at them. It was terrifying. Definitely more proof than I needed that ghosts are real.
