George Volz, 78, was found dead in his home. The coroner determined that he had died from blunt force trauma and asphyxiation. A sheet was found tied around Volz's neck. A newspaper dated May 6, 1998 was open on the table, and some items in the house were misplaced or missing. The basement window had been removed from its frame, and Volz's car was stolen. It was determined that his body was in the living room for about 3 weeks before being discovered. The case went unsolved for a few years, until May 7, 2002, when Ramel Anderson was arrested. He was found guilty of second-degree murder and robbery, and was sentenced to life in prison in 2006.
